Mission Statement:
The mission of Durham Adapt is to promote inclusion for all, and to make a positive difference in the lives of people who are differently abled. To accomplish this goal, I will be sharing the story of my journey as a wheelchair bound person as well as providing information on community activities that cater to the needs of differently abled people.
My name is Kyle Boyd. I am 21 years old and I live in Oshawa, ON and I am just about to graduate from high school. I have a rare genetic disorder called Ataxia-Telangiectasia. A.T. affects a person's nervous, immune and various other body systems and has left me permanantly wheelchair bound since I was 12 years old. My goal was to attend college and pursue journalism; unfortunately, the college is unable to accomodate my needs at this time. Instead, I have decided to start up this website to help other people who may be facing some of the challenges I have faced and may still have to face. I hope that my journey may be able to help others stay positive and focussed on their own journey. As I always say "Never give up!!!"
